What is the calculation to translate 20 hours worked in a week to annualized hours? In other words, the amount to pay IS NOT 20 hours * annualized hourly rate of pay. I have to annualize the hours first.

There are 52 weeks in a year with a full time employee working 40 hours per week. An exempt employee making 50K would make $24 per hour.

$50,000/(52*40)=$24

Take care,
Troy

The full time annualized hours for an exempt employee is 2,080. (52 weeks X 40 hours) In your example, the answer is 1,040.

Annual Salary divided by # of weeks divided by # of hours per week.
To be real technical annual salary/# of days you actually work (subtract vacations/sick days, personal days etc.) divided by hours (subtract lunch time if you do not get paid for it).
To annualize the hours just multiply # of hours per week multiply by 52.
