I'm pregnant with my second baby and after this next appt I'll be going every two weeks (Ill be 31 weeks at this next appt) With my first baby they first checked me at 32 weeks and I was already 2cm dilated. Then when they rechecked me four weeks later (two appts later) I was 4 cm dilated.
Discharge doesn't have to be thick. You can have thin like discharge. That's what it sounds like.
As far as the cramps and such..well, I've gotten menstral like cramps the entire pregnancy (had first sono at 5 weeks because of it) and I'm 28 weeks now. The tightening sounds like braxton hicks contractions.
I guess every doctor is different. Maybe you should call the office and ask when they usually start doing things like that there. I would think if the doctor thought necessary that they would check you...I think at 35 weeks you should have been checked by now. Try calling and finding out why you haven't has closer appts and been checked yet. Good luck!

You should get a new doctor. Any doctor should take into consideration ALL of your concerns, NO MATTER how trivial they think they are. At 35 weeks, you should be seeing the doc every two weeks, if not weekly. Also, if this is your first pregnancy, you should have been examined internally about 3 weeks ago. I understand you are military, so I would go to medical, and ask to speak with the doctor incharge of your doctor. Your concerns should be addressed IMMEDIATELY! IF not, the next time you get a champ or even uncomfortable, go to the emergency room. I can gaurentee they will examine you PROMPTLY!

You poor thing! I can just remember only last year I was going through the same thing.
With the doctor check, you don't usually get checked for dilation until you are in labour....well i didnt anyway on any of my 3 boys. I do however remember last year having alot of fluid leaking. I went to the hospital twice to get this checked out as I was worried it could be the amniotic fluid. However it wasnt. It was more like the mucus when you are ovulation....or may have been sweat. But just be reassured that it is normal....but if you are at all worried you can get this fluid checked. But I wouldnt be to worried as it sounds like what I had.
All the best to your and your bub!!

I think you should switch to a different doctor! By this time you should be going in twice a week, and they should be checking your cervix at every visit. They should take your complaints as serious. I spotted when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter (passed my mucas plug) @ 33 weeks along. I called the hospital, went to the H/D (which is why I never went back there for my other pregnancies) and they told me "It's OK/normal. Three days later I gave birth to a premature daughter who is now autistic. Go for a second opinion!!!!!!

For some reason it don't seem like your Dr. is interested in your pregnancy, I am not trying to put you down but when you start your 7 month you should be seeing your Dr. every 2 weeks, and when you hit week 36 you should be seeing him/her every week, I believe than that's when they check if you dilated every week.
Good Luck!
Piece of advise next time go with a midwife, they pay you closer attention, and they are easier to deal with. Anytime I don't feel something is not right I just call my midwife cell phone and she is there to answer my call.

I don't think I would worry. Before 36 weeks you are considered premature. The doctor probably won't start checking to see how dilated/efaced you are until you start having labor pains and or your water breaks. I would venture to guess that you start labor in the next 2-3 weeks, and would suggest calling your doc if you start seeing substantial amounts of the fluid.

If you are concerned then talk with your doctor. Make him listen to you and answer all your questions. I was given pelvic exams at all of my appointments near the end of the pregnancy. My twins were born at 35 4/7 weeks so it is possible to have them early. My son took 42 weeks, so you never know. Good luck to you.
