she's a japanese who was born in new york.
she's not just a singer, but a singer who is one of the most popular and succesful singers in japan!
her debut album, First Love, is the best-selling debut in Japanese music history as well as the all-time overall highest-selling album. And she stilll holds the record!
latest album is Ultra Blue... it RAAWWKSS!!! (all her songs and albums do)

She also sings a really good cover of Fly Me To The Moon (from Evangelion). I listened to a club mix of it which appears on the albulms Dancemania Diamond Complete Edition and Dancemania X8. This is how i first heard about her before she made both an english and japanese version of the song that is in Kingdom Hearts 1.

She is a japanese pop artist who is famous in America because she sang the theme songs for BOTH Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2. She sings the song in both english and japanese. Hikaru is a beautiful artist, and people should learn more about her.

She is, an amazing singer and sang + composed for the Kingdom Heart series. She is American-Japanese and tried to debut in US as "Cubic U" early in her life. A Japanese discovered her voice talant and thus begins her career in Japan. She tried to debut again in US as "Utada" and did an album (Exodus), though it didn't go too well.
Her popularity was tied with Ayumi Hamasaki, another influental Asian singer. Don't judge from her English albums.
