Yes, I believe that he does deserve the death penalty. The punishment should suit the crime, meaning that it bears equal weight. Because he killed others, his life should be taken away. With this principle in mind, there are many other "leaders" that deserve it too.

Heck yes.
There have been some hideous leaders in the past, Hitler Stalin, etc... But how many dropped chemical weapons on their own people.( The Kurds)
Hussein Joins the big boys club as one of the most hideous monsters who ever lived. He deserves to join them all in Hell.

i think of that I straddle the fence in this one because of the fact on the single hand Saddam did very hideous issues to his very own human beings and could have been punished for them. on the different hand I observed this broken previous guy who no longer had any capacity or posed a threat to every person. i think of like the different butcher milosovic he might ultimately have died in reformatory and that i could have been pleased with that.
