This probably won't cause any harm to your baby at this point, unless you find yourself holding your breath while you push, causing a lack of oxygen to your blood. Later in pregnancy, it might throw you into an early labor. Probably the worst thing it is going to do for you right now is cause hemorrhoids to start appearing. To help alleviate the constitpation, you will need to start eating more fiber, either in the form of supplements or in high fiber foods, like shredded wheat.

It won't hurt baby, but it WILL hurt you! Eat more fiber (like All Bran cereal) and drink some (yuk!) warm prune juice. That will open things up a bit. There is also a natural remedy to keep the plumbing going called BAP. Banana, Apples, and Prunes ground together.

well it is common..and it doesn't usually cause any harm...but what you should do is eat a lot of fruit everyday, and foods high in fiber...have oatmeal for breakfast...or a sandwich with wheat bread it should help..and its kinda hard because you need to keep your blood levels up with iron but iron makes you constipated....

Hi, had same prob. I drank more water, took lactulose solution and increased fibre in the diet. Dont worry, it will pass and probably is not harmful to baby. See your doctor if you are in pain with it.

talk to your doctor. I had the runs so bad the first few month I almost lost my son. Watch what you take as we are not doctors and you have no recourse if you loose this child
