I guess you'd say I'm both! If a woman is expecting a baby that is deformed or has a severe birth defect that will have a big effect on its life and the family's life mentally, physically and financially I think I would have an abortion as soon as it was found. If a woman gets pregnant due to neglect of birth control and has an abortion because she wants to I'm against that. There are plenty couples out there who can't have kids and would love to adopt a baby that is unwanted.

When America can take all the Homeless off the streets and reduce the Prison population by at least have then it can consider the morality of abortion. Too do so now is in the face of such un wanted and under privileged people nothing short of lunacy. Remember those people were once somebodies unwanted child and to a certain degree still are!

To tell you the truth, I don't think one could have a well-based, solid answer to this question. Normally, abortion disgusts me. The women who are using it like birth control disgust me even me. However, I believe there are exceptions. Say a woman was raped. How could you expect her to live with that? Knowing she was carrying the the child of the one who abused her? Or even worse, what if she were young? In her teenage years perhaps? This is the only time I will ever stand for abortion, and I believe that these women have the right to practice it.

That is such a tricky question! One one hand, I consider the killing of children, at any age, to be immoral. But on the other, how is a woman supposed to support that child if welfare is being cut to the point it won't even pay rent? And that is where our government has got us now. Especially when many people don't follow throught with their child support obligations because then THEY can't house themselves?
I know there are people out there who would say "get a job", but honestly - have you seen the cost of child care lately? And many men (and a few women) do NOT contribute to the care of their child. And there are people in the government (because of voters, for the most part) who don't want to pay for these children and their food, clothing, housing and education. But they definitely want them to be born. Why? To continue a cycle of poverty?
If it's a religious thing, think of it this way - If your god, whoever you worship, wants that child to be born, wouldn't he make sure it was born - even if the first 'mother' aborted it? Doesn't he have the power to put the child in another womb? And why won't he make sure the child is loved and cared for?
I realize this is a hot button issue, but unfortunately, I have to look at it through the lenses of common sense. Who is going to pay for these children? No one wants new taxes to support these unfortunate children, but no one seems to agree with abortion. So what gives? What should we do?
I don't like the sight of starving children, children without proper winter coats, children without proper clothing, or even adults without these things (as they were children once) in my neighborhood. I'll give you that. And I make very little money, so I can't do as much as I'd like for the ones I know are suffering. In the end, I feel if you were 'meant' to be born, you would be. And no abortion could destroy your essence. So elective abortion is acceptable to me - just EXTREMELY unpleasant.

I think if you're thinking about having an abortion you should get counseling first to make sure it's what you want to do. You can go to your doctor or even your local church pastor. You should have used birth control in the first place but that's a lesson well learned for you. It's your body so do what you want but still get counseling. Good luck to you

I am for every woman having the choice. Too many people judge women who have a termination before knowing any facts. I believe it is a better option than bringing an unwanted child into the world, if done early enough. xxx

i think its a personal issueof the woman involved and no one has any right to interfere I do think partial birth abortion is murder and should never be done UNLESS IT IS TO SAVE THE MOTHER'S LIFE. I also think people who say they are "disgusted" probably think they are better than these women but I can say for sure that they have never had to walk a mile in those women's shoes and wouldn't be woman enough to anyway

Abortion kills a living being. If the mother (to be) is threatened by death, then okay. In the case of incest & rape, okay to some circumstances. The baby can be given up for adoption.
