in encouraging love, and helping each other out especially this Yule-Tide season. Afterall, we are responsible for our ignorance and indifference if we fail to see the human need in others around us who have little or none. And if there is indifference to human responsibility than there surely must be something wrong with our heart. " Rescue the perishing, don't hesitate to step in and help..." (Proverbs 25)
What are you going to do to help someone or some family in need this Christmas?
What are some ways we can help, I for one would like to know some ideas as mine seem to be the same year after year? I would appreciate some fresh input, so step up to the plate and pour your ideas out.

I have a three year old and my goal this year is to get him involved in charity. We always give to church and bring food n clothing for the homeless, but I would like to put him in a (safe) position to actually see what his helping does for others. I was thinking of serving food at shelters, or keeping company with the elderly - living in FL there are always things to do to help out. I am waiting for my parish to let me know what they do each year for more ideas - this is our first Christmas in FL. God Bless!

Hi,
Every year I give presents to children of less fortunate families. I love the feeling that I get when I know that I helped to brighten someone's Holiday Season.
This year will be no different because this year, I will continue to give gifts to families that may need a helping hand this season.
However there is one thing that I will do differently....
I plan to visit a local hospital in my community and do something special for the patients in the hospital.
I am going to bring crayons, markers, paper, glue, scissors and embellishments to the hospital and let the patients make their own Christmas decorations for their hospital room.
I am also going to bring some boxes of hot chocolate and bake some cookies to share with the patients afterwards.
Anyway, this is what I am going to do to help someone else in need this Christmas Season.
Merry Christmas to you and to everyone out there reading this!

Donating coats and blankets for the homeless shelters and supporting those shelters is a great way. I am also making lap quilts and afghans for the elderly who sit allot. Last year, we also joined in a group at church that got together to hand out gift bags to the homeless. Each family made one, or more bags filled with personal items such as shampoo, shaving gear, combs and brushes, soap, toothbrush and tooth paste, towel, etc. This year we want to add a blanket and maybe a gift card to a restaurant.
