What do Internet users want on their homepage??

What does every internet user want on his/her homepage? I'm trying to design a "perfect" homepage, which should suit the needs of all surfers. I'e already put up a hybrid search engine, which lets you select what to search (web, images, news, video, audio) and from where you want to search(google, yahoo, aol, msn, wikipedia, and more..) all in one single click. I just need suggestions as to what more should I put up on the page, as to make it the "perfect" homepage.

Forget it.... you can not please everyone with one page. People have different needs and desires on what info. to see.
