Its not safe for the US military anywhere! Even in the so called ally or friendly neighbour. These Canadians really think they are tough now dont they? You guys have 10 times the population of this country for one thing. I think those ' east ' coasters ' got way out of line with your servicemen on leave in a ' supposed ' friendly country. People need to be taught to FEAR us servicemen no matter what branch. especially these canadians

No nationality is free of hatred, even Canada. Think about English vs. French speaking peoples there who have been killing each other for centuries. And why should any member of any military be exempt from murder? No one else is, any where at any position in life. Even you or me.

I'm a Canadian from the east coast, and all of us are sickened by what happened to that young man. His name was Damon Crooks and he was from Florida. Did you even take the time to learn his name before you belittled an entire country for the actions of three men? You don't know Canadians at all. We do not think we are "tough" because of this terrible event. We are ashamed that such a thing could happen here. We worry about the family of Mr Crooks and pray that they somehow find solace and that justice will be delivered to them.

My father (may he rest in peace) was in the Canadian Navy during WW ll and then spent many years as a merchant marine travelling around the globe. I heard many stories about the life of a sailor. It was rough, to say the least. He survived a stabbing and a shooting and had the scars to prove it. These attacks happened while on leave. Arguments over gambling money, booze, women, etc. One attack in Boston and the other in South America. Some things never change.

People don't need to be taught fear. We need to remember respect for all life. We don't yet know the whole story, but I'm sure alcohol/drugs were involved, as they usually are in these tragic crimes. Men arguing, drunk, weapons, anger and then............a young man lost his life.

For that, we are all sorry.

Relax, would you?
Crimes happen in Canada too, like everywhere else. The vast majority of Canadians don't commit them. The vast majority of Canadians don't bear any hostility to Americans either. It's just a freak occurring. If a U.S. serviceman had been murdered in California, would you start saying California hates the U.S.?
Besides, the police have six suspects in custody. Don't worry, someone will face justice.

I watched Bowling for Columbine on (Irish) TV last night.
Americans seem to have a grudge against Canadaians for having a low crime rate and a better quaility of life.
I would say, let justice take its course and lets not prejudge the situation until all the facts are in.
Do i read you wrong, you seem to be up for invading Canada.

I was shocked when i read that, however, under the circumstances it could have been anyone regardless of nationality, these thugs were all drinking and when people are drunk anyone is at risk, don't be so quick to judge, remember the people who were so kind to you during the 9/11 tragedy, they were in Gander NFLD. CANADA.
