How about was it wrong for Saddam Hussein to order the horrendous torture, and slaughter of thousands of his fellow countrymen? How about it being wrong for this monster (between him and Hitler I can't even guess which one was more demonic) to use a w eapon of mass destruction on a great many of his countymen and fellow Muslims? The Iraqi people were under the unthinkable domination of this monster and his two devilish sons for some three and a half decades, and his reign of horror has me lost for words to begin to d escribe. They a re ridding the world of an evil that was, and is, beyond the imagination of most of the rest of the world, because any ordinary ;person's mind can't wrap itself around the thought of one human being being capable of such horrors. I do NOT call that "stooping to his level" When he is executed, as he rightly should be, he will not be tortured with electric wires, or have his eyes gouged out, or his body slashed in a thousand places and he's left to lie there and bleed out till he dies.. He will be put to death quickly and cleanly, and that is waaaaaaaaaay more than this son of the Devil himself deserves.

I don't believe in the death penalty, even for Saddam. I don't think in his case there is any doubt he's guilty, but the death penalty is in general wrong because it is not reversible in the event of error.
In his case, there is another reason not to kill him; we'll end up with a martyr - that's a more powerful symbol than if we just let him rot in jail.
However, this is not America's decision - the trial is in Iraq, under an Iraqi legal system, and a sovereign power - nothing to to with the US.
Oh - and I can't believe ANYONE is so stupid as to link Saddam with 9/11 - even our deranged president has finally admitted when asked what Saddam had to do with 9/11 - "nothing". Well, at least he finally figured that out.

I do not understand what he is being hung for in the first place. I thought Iran was behind gassing the Kurds.
I feel sad for Saddam. I also think he was railroaded for some reason.
I am not opposed to the death penalty though. Take sexual predators for example. What's the point in keeping them alive so that they can continue to do harm to others? The liberals want to give them a slap on the wrist and send them on their way. The conservatives want to register people who urinate in public as sexual predators which seems extreme as well. We need a common sense party instead of the two party extremists we have now.
We shouldn't have invaded Iraq in the first place. I still don't get why it was even done.

In my opinion that would be hypocrisy, but the crimes Saddam has commited are just to heavy for a life sentence in jail so in that case it's justice

If someone has to die, the justice has died too! Stooping down to their level, makes you just as bad as the killer, because then you too, become a killer!

Why do you think it's wrong to kill? Did you ever read the Bible? Lots of killing there, but there's a difference it's not killing it's justice, it's what we have as human's on this planet. God will give the final judgement.

This is a different situation. Saddam is a terrorist. He killed many. So I think it's justice. It's fair to hang Saddam. Let him rot in hell!

I won't sit here and help out SadDAMN, but life does have value. He knew this when he did all those things. He was only dreaming that justice wouldn't catch up with him.
What his punshment should be then, I don't know.
(When you say hypocrisy you sound like a nut job.)

I never believe that violence is the answer except in extreme cases where other lives are in danger. This is one of those extreme cases. So yes he deserves to be hung. I hope that they find Osama next and hang him. I personally believe that hanging is too quick a death for both of them though.

I think there comes a point that, even if it brings us down to their level, we just have to take one for the team and take out someone who's that much of a threat to innocent people.
