I think its pretty lame.....but its usually only unintelligent people that make fun of the way some one talks. Its not as if its bad grammar, just an accent. I mean, I'm not exactly in favor of president Bush but if I'm going to discuss him it isn't going to be about how he pronounces the word "nuclear"!!

I'm from the south also....I never really even noticed he had that bad of an accent until I heard some one on TV point it out.

It depends on whether it is done as a light hearted joke or as a vicious attempt to insult the president.

Jay Leno had a series of jokes he'd ask if Bush's Spanish was better than his English. He's show a clip of Bush speaking spanish & sounding great with a clip of him stumbling over some phrase or name in English.

But I have also seen some "questions" here like "How could America have elected a president who can't even speak!" Those were tastless, & as a Texan, I find them personally offensive! I sometimes also have difficulty getting my words out. Sometimes my tongue & my brain don't seem to have a good connections. So, while I have a good laugh at Bush's "Bushisms" I get defensive when they are used to attack him.

I also have some serious disagreements with how Bush has run things, so I wonder why these idiots waste thier time focusing on his poor speaking skills, rather than on the content of what he has said.

The human race is a ridiculous bunch !

The sooner we begin to laugh and poke fun at the things that can upset us, the easier life will be. One of the main differences between the Americans and the terrorists, is the terrorist cannot laugh and poke fun at one another. A sad bunch of nitwits.

So let's all laugh and take time out for seeing the world through a comedic light once in a while. Yes, and that includes the President of the United States. The late night comedians are doing a great job at poking fun of the events of the day and the people in the news.....Bravo.

I am from the South as well, so I am well aware of my accent and yes, I've been ribbed a few times. But let's face we all have accents and those accents have to do with or geographic location and the extent of our diction. The main concern is the content of the speech not the accent. There will always be critics.whether about accents or policies.

The Southern people are stereotyped as being less educated but in actuality we have the best colleges in the country that why the "yanks" (hehehe) are all trying to go to colleges here. And we have them fooled. We are the smartest.

Better to laugh at ones accent than ones policies..

initially, in all probability because of the fact which you at the instant are not socially knowledgeable sufficient to be making relaxing of something you do no longer comprehend. you assert "mexicans", like this is meant to seek advice from all hispanic people. It does no longer. Secondly in case you understood comedy you will possibly know that it is not "making relaxing of". on the instant's comedy is all with regard to the irony of stereotypes between different races. you will discover that the hispanic and black comedians you're concerning actually have a intense white demographic that attends their shows. it relatively is in basic terms comedy. relax. no longer each little thing is black and white. and that i know a great sort of comedians who've textile that contain different races. i don't get indignant because of the fact i'm knowledgeable and that i are conscious of it relatively is comedy. Neither ought to you.

Prez Bush is certainly not the best orator we've had for president, but I know a lot of Texans and I enjoy hearing from them. They are at least "straight-shooters" and they don't mince words.

I remember a lot of comic impersonators had a great time with Lyndon Johnson, too. And JFK. And certainly Rush does a great Clinton. I don't get my panties in a bunch over this kind of satiric comedy: after all, it wouldn't be prudent

LBJ's and Carter's "Sothrun" accents were all made fun of. What's good for the goose is sauce for the gander.

The accents of JFK and FDR were also made fun of. There is a hilarous version someplace of an Eisenhower mimic doing a very fractured version of the Gettysburg Address.

His accent is the last thing on my mind, concerning his issues. DeVos isn't too much an orator himself, but I'm not judging HIM on his accent; I'm a little more concerned about what he'd do to Michigan if (and by the look of things, that's a BIG if) he got elected Governor.

WRONG ? No... it's that loveable First Amendment !!

FUNNY ? I suppose THAT depends on the individual trying to make the joke !! I STILL love Dana Carvey's "Bush", Daryl Hammonds "Clinton"... and whoever the actor who does all these George W. Bush impersonations.

Interesting that many liberals ONLY factual complaint about W is that he can't pronouce "nuclear".

Actually, the President isn't that intelligent to me. He doesn't write anything he speaks and he can barely read it either. Accent or not, Mr. Bush isn't that smart and he knows it! But then again it doesnt take a genius to spell W-A-R now does it.

I think southern accents sound strange because I'm from the north. Don't make fun of them but it's different.
