Set 600 = 60 + 45x, where x = number of months, then solve for x:

600 = 60 + 45x

(subtract 60 from both sides)

540 = 45x

(divide both sides by 45)

12 = x

ANSWER: 12 months

60 + 45x = 600 Subtract 60 from both sides

45x = 600 - 60

45x = 540 Get x by itself
