Why are produced groups called bands? when none of them play instruments..you know the type the all boy or all girl type ones(like west life,or S-club 7) who can't sing for toffee, pretend they are doing some "awsome" dance while they sing, and they only do cover songs from the 70's and 80's which are then totaly ruined by a heavy drum beat..

and then they are given the "most successful band ever" title.

Interesting question and I think it deserves a qualified answer. My own feeling was always that the drummer was the difference between a trio and a band.....e.g. Cream were a band, whereas The Springfields were a trio. The use of midi and automatics tended to make this distinction less clear in my mind. To add to the confusion, we then had the titles. 'boy band' and 'girl band', who were purely vocal groups, playing no instruments at all. Now I think it is acceptable to call Westlife a 'boy band', as in common usage we have come to accept that the words 'boy band' mean that they don't play instruments, but I don't think they can be called simply a band. Vocal group yes, but band no.

Don't you think four people singing together isa band? Do you not consider the human voice to be an instrument? You are very much mistaken. I take your point about
S-Club 7 - in my opinion they cannot sing for fudge but they fill a gap in the market - a gap appreciated by people who just want to have a good time and get instant gratification. But then again you site Bryan (B r y a n ) Adams and Kiss on your 360 as being worthy of listening and that may be someone else's idea of hell! Me included. Most successful band ever is completely arbitrary - who cares?

Gareth. Spot on mate.

They just are though because that is the generic name for any group of people who produce music of any sort. Even if they do not play instruments that's what they are called.

Sad isn't it. They should be called groups or in most cases absolute **** with no right to be heard.

"Note the game must work correctly no matter what number of explorers and lost explorers the player inputs." What if the number of lost explorers entered is greater than the number of explorers entered? Shouldn't there be an error message in that case? And this wouldn't be a difficult program to write at all, the verbiage of the assignment makes it seem much harder than it is. You can do it! If you have trouble along the way with a specific issue, let us know.
