I suggest The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy, very exciting. Captain Blood by Raphael Sabatini, that's a good one. If you want more modern, go with Jurassic Park by Michael Crighton, how fantastic that one is. Or you could read Children and Fools by Terry Mirll, that one is just outright hilarious.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I'm trying to finish it and it's getting really interesting.

If you like Stephen King, try Firestarter. I love that book! It was the first book of his that I read... I can still feel the endorphin rush after I read that! Also, try the Dark Tower series... They're great! :-)

My favorite is "Possession" by A.S. Byatt. It's better than the movie, although I liked the movie, too.
