I'm looking at getting my camry painted so it matches with the bodywork being done. I want a nice paint job, just one color (white), with gloss (or candy, or pearl, or whatever gives it that great shine and depth). i'm sure it'll be a couple layers, about how much should it cost? thanks.

go get an estamite from a bodyshop around your area. shop around and contrast the coverage and all.
anyhow, I am guessing you'll be paying around $295.00.However, custome paint is much more expensive and it is more work. $500.00-$1000.00
make sure you'll get lifetime warranty. read you reciept.remember your do's and don'ts...good luck

It would depend on the type of paint used! From what you state "in depth with lots of shine" falls into base coat with a clear coat finish. There are also acrylic enamels that do an excellent job also and probably much cheaper.
The price varies tremendously from shop to shop so you would have to get an estimate. I would guess a fair price without any body work would run in the range of $1000-$1500.
MAACO is generally the cheapest at around $495 without body work but then they nickel and dime you, but from what I've seen I'm not impressed with the quality of the finished product! However, just shop around because as I stated the price varies drastically!

Jay is correct 3-5 thousands about right. possibly more if your changing color completely. I paid $4500 for a nice color change.
I'm picky and frown upon Maaco's work.

Do you know that your car can be blended so that it looks new without painting the entire car? This should cost you about 75% less.
