I won't suggest it. Practicing against the wall is good if you're developing quick response against enemies that do a quick volleys, and it stops right there. You may play against the wall, but don't make a wall your only training partner.

You should play out on the court once or twice with a human partner to develop other shots.

And you won't be able to conveniently do serves, smashes, or any kind of spins on the wall, the ball the wall return would turned out weird and unnatural on these shots.

The wall worked for me. I had never played before and hitting up against the wall for a month got me as #2 on the varsity team at my HS and into the regionals. I think its a perfect way to practice your ground strokes and volleys. I still use it for volleys. I just stand close and keep hitting it while in the air. It helps my reaction time and raquet quickness. So i would suggest using the wall.

It is good for hand eye coordination. However, the way the ball comes back to you in unrealistic. You need to practice w/ other people, bottom line.

Borg didn't get good by hitting the ball against the wall all day.

Borg started his tennis career by training against a garage port. He won eleven grand slams and started only once in Australian Open. Had he played Australian Open he would probably had reached 16 or 17 grand slams

I just like to say that I improve on my power, coordination, and control using the wall to practice.

ughh ya you gain alot of consistency with your strokes but dont just play against the wall or else it gets hard to play against people with topspin because that kicks off the ground whereas if you were playing against a wall it would return to you flat or with underspin. and you dont get alot of variety with your strokes while playing with the wall

It helped me to make my strokes more consistent. Just doing the same thing over and over gives you a chance for your strokes to become second nature. You build muscle memory.
