You can't really forget, but you can put it in to perspective. There are awful things that happen everyday, but people move on. People get raped, murdered, beaten, held captive, and many other things. Whatever you saw, you need to look at as a small part of what's going on in the world and your life. That experience is over and done with and you should not let it effect the rest of your life. Not only does it not make sense, but it's not worth it.

I hope you can move on from this horrible experience.

It really depends on what is is you have seen. If you saw a murder or other crime being committed, you should probably seek some kind of psychiatric evaluation to help you get through it. If it was a scary movie, it's best to watch those in the mornings to give yourself all day to forget ever seeing it.

When you see something traumatic, your mind sometimes replays it repeatedly. There is no easy way to make that memory go away. Every person stops the repeated memory in their own time.

The traumatic experience creates Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in you and you can go to therapy to work on getting over the experience, but even that may not stop the memory for quite some time.

Take care,
Troy

That depends on what was so horrible that u saw. It takes time to get over anything so awful, But talking about with someone you trust may help you in the process of getting over it .I think there are hot lines in every state to talk to someone and you can remain anonymous if you want to .Here in NY its called lifeline and i myself have called when i just had to talk to someone . Look it up and see if there is one in your state. GOOD LUCK!

I'm so sorry for what is going on with you at this point....well you weren't specific about the situation....try to remember things that made you happy in the past...and also remember that happy things occurred in your life also not just bad....try to get the horrible vision out of your sight and try not to bring it up....do things that would take your mind off of it....go out with your friends and try not to be lonely....hope it works good luck....and dont worry time can take this away also...

You more then likely can't, I see images from my past all the time. Poeple might tell you, "Think of something good, think of something better." "Find a hobby to distract yourself." When really, there's no way to forget it truly.

I’ve learned the best method to coup with something you have seen which is horrible is to talk about it with other people.

You can't. You just have to decided of you want to forgive it and move on. but it does depend on what the horrible thing is

I would recommend talking about it with a professional. There are ways you can deal with what you need to first, resulting in less and less thoughts of it over time. Good luck!

It might be possible to forget about it if it wasn't really bad. If it was really bad it might stick with u forever. Life goes on. so don't worry about it. It will be good soon.
