can i use a cloth or is there something else that i need? can i use windex?

They sell scratch/repair kits. These really do works, but sometimes you can't clean it and then play it and have it work just like new again. I recommend cleaning it off, and then burning it onto your computer. Most computers have software that can automatically stream audio files back together, especially after you have it cleaned off. When cleaning *** never rub the CD in a circular fashion. Always wipe from the middle out.

STEP 2: Buy a fluid-based CD scratch-repair kit. STEP 3: Get a soft, lint-free cloth, such as one made for cleaning eyeglasses, if your scratch-repair kit doesn't come with cloths or swabs. STEP 4: Follow the manufacturer's instructions. Wipe across the CD, working from the inside out in straight lines. Never wipe in a circular pattern. STEP 5: Repeat the process, if necessary.

try taking it to a local cd store and ask them to they have abuffing machine. and to clean cds you a little pledge dont soak the the cd just spray the pledge in the air and let the mist land on it..
