Was on the pill for about a year, 7 years ago. Also, very aware of my ovulation -- that is what's making me start to worry.

I am recently 33 and had my first baby Aug 31/06. It took 8months or so of on/off trying. Sometimes when you are stressed over this it can slow things down. Also, the "experts" suggested that you have intercourse every other day and if you know when you ovulate every day for the three days leading up to it and including it. Also, stay off alcohol and cut down on caffine. Take folic acid as this can reduce the chance of nural tube defects with the baby.

Some say that after age 30 if you have been trying for six months with no success you should consult with a doctor re fertility issues. As after 35 the chances of the baby being born with conditions such as downs syndrome is higher.

I know someone who at 38 had her first child and tried for two years, some one at 37 who had tried for four months, someone at 34 tried for several years.

Good luck.

I turned 30 in June. My husband & I have been trying since April (so we are now in month 8 of ttc) and I had been on the pill since I was 17. Still no positives as of yet - however, to be realistic, I have only gotten to know my body the past 4 months through reading a book "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler and I probably wasn't timing intercourse correctly before then and now i'm charting my temp and cervical mucus. So I guess i'm not really answering your question, but giving you an insight of where i've been and how long its taken so far for us!!
I want to sprinkle {{{{baby dust}}}} for the both of us!!
Good luck!

I wish I could give you some of the magic I apparently have! I am currently pregnant and conceived during the first month, we believe on the first day of trying. I was very shocked as I thought it would take much longer. We did it twice a day (morning and night) all month and I think it was around the 14th day of my cycle that that the magic happened.
I have read that orgasm helps so you need to relax, if possible!
I don't think taking the pill all that time ago will have effected you.
I wish you all the best, it will happen!

Everyone's fertility is different. It took me 3 years, my body was really messed up after being on the pill for 10 years. Good luck

If you have taken birth control pills or any other type of hormons it may take a year and longer. My cousin (26) is young and healthy, took birthcontrol hormons for about 8 years, it took her 4 years before she was finally pregnant.
I wish you good luck and hope for you it'll happen soon(er).

Well I did nothing to keep from getting that way but it took me 3
years be for I did .I think when I gave up trying so hard is when I got pregnant .
Also vinegar douches to reduce your acidity may help .
Husband needs to have a sperm count done .
