I am doing a report on squirrel monkeys for school this is a required topic and there isnt very much information online. I know they live in Northern South America but there is no reason why. I would think that they just prefer it there but there is information that shows they avoid parts of Brazil. Anything you know, such as there is more abundant food sources, or there is less predators there would be fine thanks

That is where they evolved, simple as that. Animals just don't decide to go to a place anywhere in the world becaus they feel like it. They only occur in places where they evolved or could easily migrate to.
