ok, i need some opinions, especially from other african americans. I got in an argument with a friend of mine because we saw a caucasian girl, about 19 or 20, wearing a jet black afro wig. she wasnt trying to make a scene or pretening to be african american or anything obviously offensive, she was just wearing the wig. My friends wanted to kick her *** because she thought it was offensive, but i didnt. I thought, if she likes how she looks, why cant she wear an afro? just because she's white? what do you think?

White girls can wear Afros. Black girls can dye their hair blond. Are we living in Jerry Springer Land? If it is what you want then do it. Who is it hurting?

Infinite Diversity is what makes America strong. If we start taking offence at every little thing, we'll be at each other's throats and nothing will ever get done. I suggest you tell your friend that she has an equal right to wear a blonde wig and get over it.

She should save her anger for something that matters.

I think it is fine. I don't think it would be offensive to african americans. It would be like them wearing a blonde wig!

Im black and i really dont find that offensive as a first inpression. but it depends if they know her or if she was just someone walking by. no a days black women most get extremely offended by white women, because more white women are dating black guys and black women think white women are trying to take over the black men. But it just goes back to extreme racism and even know im black , ALOT! of black people still dwell on slavery days and use it against white people. And just as a little thought if you hear anyone talkin about slavery, dont worry about it....THEY WERE NOT THERE BACK THEN.

That would be a really stupid reason to kick her behind. I see African American women all the time with hair that is straight like a white woman.

i dont see how that would be offensive, im white and i see black people with blonde hair and it doesnt offend me, its not like shes saying something bad about black people, in fact, shes saying that she likes your hair and so she decided to try it out!

i think it depends on her atitude about it.. if she was wearing it because she like the fashion then its not a problem but if she was wearing to make a joke then that horrible but unless otherwise i think its fine
