My second-best friend and I are no longer friends. She laughs at me when I get mad, and she thinks she can do it whenever she wants. She also says guys don't think I am pretty. So I emailed her telling her I was not her friend anymore.
I feel free from her... but there is one problem... I need to make new friends. Now, I am naturally shy around girls, so I need to break out of my shell. Any advice on how to do that?

Your ex-friend sounds like a real B-word (lol) Be yourself and if people dont like you then forget them. Dont change yourself to fit in with other people EVER. You will make friends eventually, dont worry about it. dont be needy. Good Luck!!

I can't say any better than try not to be shy. If you have an iPod or mp3 player, stop using it. If you spend time in skool for HWs, dont do it anymore. U'll be forced to talk with the others since you'r bored. Try to talk a lot. And i think u should put your pride down a lil bit. It'll be a big bump for your making-friends career.

wow! i was in ur shoes when i was in 7th grade the best way is of you are in any sprts make friends with them and same if your in any clubs, take drama class(if you have it) and that should do the trick trust me i was shy to then i took drama class and everthing changed after a month,umm....you can try talking to you school counsler (if you have one). if you know people in a class that ur in try and make friends with them for get about your ex best friend she can't stop you from making new friends, what's she gonna do she can't do anything, just losin up a little and with in no time you'll have friends. trust me i know this i went through the same thing.
but you shouldn;t tell someone that ur not gonna be there friend what you should have done was made ur self not avaliable and she should get that you don't wanna do anything wit her

Are you still in school? Join a group or club that interests you and participate so people can get to know you. It's the best way to make friends if you are shy about just approaching people. I am too and there's nothing wrong with it.

Do you mean that Guys like only pretty girls to be as their friends.Friends have no boundary for their outlook.How they are communicating,how they behave,how they feel for each other,How they respect each other, and so many other things involved.
The other way go to htt[://www.chat.yahoo.com and enter into a teen room or 18 years of your preferred room - friends,single-love-romance etc. and make some new friends after screening.

First be a friend, and before you know it you'll have lots of friends. Don't be self-conscious by focusing on yourself; focus on the other person, who is probably just as shy as you are, and try to make it easy for the other person to talk to you.

Just be yourself. You wouldn't want to make friends while acting like something you're not, because then they are not actually your friends. btw, how old are you? just curious, cuz that changes things a lot, u know?
Well, if they are really your friends, then it shouldn't matter. However, it may make things awkward for them.

if u go to school and there is some1 new going to ur school tell then ur name and talk to then more. if u don't go to school go to a place and ask then there name talk to then more is like wat u whould do to some1 new in ur school. don't be mean to every1 u meet on the street.be nice and maby some1 would like to be ur friend. also be urself.
