You can try sharing meals, this often works for us. (especially if you have small children with you)

When we are there, we don't purchase Disney toys, only things that have "Walt Disney World", or a specific park or ride printed on them. Anything else you can purchase at a local store or online.

If you are staying on Disney property, and plan on only visiting Disney parks, you won't have to rent a car, as you can use Disney Transportation, including the Magical Express that takes you to your resort from the airport, then back to the airport on your day of departure.

Take some snacks with you into the park. (Yes, you are allowed to take food into the parks) We usually take a small backpack and keep some plastic cups. We can then buy a larger drink and split it. It ends up cheaper than buying 2 small drinks.

If you have a digital camera, it ends up much cheaper than purchasing film and having it developed. Although one year we gave each of the kids 2 "one-time use" cameras. It was interesting to see things from their perspective.

Most of all, enjoy yourselves. Relax and thoroughly experience each moment. There is nothing worse than frustrated parent fighting, or forcing a child onto a ride they don't want to go on. You spend a lot of money just to go there, try to make it fun for everyone.

dont stay in the park, there are lots of hotels very close to the park and many have free transportation there so you dont have to drive in yourself. Stay somewhere with a kitchenette if you can that way you can head to the supermarket when you arrive and get stuff to bring your own lunches.

Meals in the park can get quite expensive. bottled water isn't too bad so dont waste space in the lunch bags with more than one bottle. Most of the water fountains are chilled anyway, so pack extra snacks instead.

Limit spending in the parks. Stuffed animals, clothing and figureines are very expensive. Mickey ears however are not and are much better souvieners. they are unique to the parks are easily personalized! a plain set is 8 bucks and its its another $2 to have your name embroidered on them. Worth every penny! (bring a few bobby pins to stick them on though, they can slide off small heads if its breezy)

the 3 best money savings things I brought to the park were ponchos ( the ones sold at the park are $10 each!), crystal light/ kool aid to go packs so I was less tempted to buy sodas, and lots and lots and lots of batteries. bring double the amount of batteries you think you'll need and always carry two extra sets to the park. film too if youre not using a digital camera. Have fun!!!

Purchase batteries, film, & rain ponchos before you fly to Orlando. Purchase Disney park tickets at AAA offices or at your local Disney Store for a discount. Purchase snack items such as nutri-grain bars, juice boxes, and triscuit crackers to keep in your hotel room. Pack these snacks in sandwich bags and take them in with you to the parks to save money on snacks.

When I lived in Virginia and went to Disneyworld we would book at a trailer park. They rent out hugh trailers with kitchens and baths. Included laundry and pool and around a 5 minute car ride to the park. Paid 250$ US in 1993 for a week (7 days)

My family just might be the biggest Disney fans in the world! They make such high quality things. Scholastic had a great deal going on to get 7 free disney books for only $3.99 shipping! I got them a few months ago, so I don't know if the deal is still going on.
Anyway, the web address is http://www.alllsite.info/free-disney-books.php

I thought you might be interested because your also a Disney fan! Enjoy!
