A loser is someone with no friends, no job, no money, etc. The other essential part of the definition is that a loser makes no effort to change his/her situation. A loser can only be pitied so far, since most of the time it's their own fault they're in that situation.

The definition of a loser is when someone accidentally leaves something somewhere and it is never recovered. Even in that case it is the act of losing the object; the person does not wear that label.
Contrary to popular judgemental beliefs I feel that no one should define one no matter what they are or are not doing.

literally loser is a person that losers, or fails to do something but if you mean by just calling someone a loser that is because you think they have some kind of a bad personal quality.

Someone who lives in the US, the freest and most prosperous nation in the world and is broke and poor and then expects things that they do not earn. You have people like me who earn a living by earning it and working hard and smart. Then you have the losers who want to seize it via taxes and give it to those who have not earned it. They do so in the doctrine of fairness. Yet ask them if they will give their money and they hem and haw.
Anyone who lives in the US and is poor and complains without doing anything about it qualifies.
