Banks don't give out that kind of information.

If you ever had a bad account with a bank that would be reported somewhere but good accounts remain silent. Stop worrying.

No, there is no way for a landlord to find out the details of your bank accounts unless you authorize your bank to give them that information. The only exception would be through the courts. If you wind up in litigation with your landlord, there is a process called discovery, which is part of every lawsuit, during which they can ask you turn over documents that are relevant to the lawsuit.

The only reason why they care about your bank accounts is to make sure you have money to pay their rent. If the bank account you had shows that, they won't want to look for more.

If they find out about it, just feign innocence and say you didn't know he wanted you to include joint accounts or that you forgot about it when filling out the application.

The landlord really isn't going to care as long as you pay your rent on time and the landlord doesn't bad reports about you. If the landlord did their job they would have wanted to see something in writing and he/she would know.
