Yes, at least he's had a fair trial unlike his victims.

99% of the time I oppose the death penalty, however, in the case of Saddam I think it's for the best. If he was imprisoned for life I think it would incur more terrorism - hijacked planes, the taking of prisoners and threatening to execute them if they don't release Saddam, rescue attempts, etc. I think in the case of Saddam the justice system has actually worked. To simply kill him on site when they first arrested him would have been a huge mistake as it wouldn't have necessarily held him accountable for his crimes, but to put him on trial for the world to see is like the beginning of justice for the world. It feels more civilized and satisfying to watch someone go through the proper channels of punishment and for him to have the consequences of his atrocities spelled out for him and the world. Death should never be celebrated in these circumstances, but it doesn't mean that war crimes should go unpunished.

No, he shouldn't be killed, because it was an unjust trial under an occupied force, controlled from the green zone and white house. If the biggest Cuban dictator Fidel Castro according to the American so called high standards is allowed to live a long life just ninety miles for USA, why not another dictator called Saddam be left alone. I guess it will not happen, because Oil supplies from IRAQ are more vital than Sugarcane from Cuba.

im not to sure he should be killed but heres what i do think.
Bring in all the family members of the people he unjustly killed and let them start by each pulling out one of his pubic hairs one at a time.
Then move on to hooking him up to a car battery and give him a few volts.
Then parade him through town naked for all the Iraqi people including women to see.
Then maybe pour some acid in his ***.
Then move onto peeling his skin off and dragging him through the streets again.
Maybe toss him off a building handcuffed. If he survives all that then turn him over to the Kurds.

I think the death of Saddam will be another excuse for rioting but he was an evil dictator who never gave any of his victims a fair chance. He asked to be shot by firing squad not to be hung but the sentence is for hanging. I don't think HE gave anyone a choice.

Yes because in his case its the only way to make sure he is no longer running any operations from inside prison. The man is an ogre and doesnt deserve any pity or to live. I hear he will opt for death via a military firing squad - this should be refused and he should be made to hang in public - what he inflicted on his victims was terrible and he showed them no mercy whatsoever.

No the bible says in Romans 8 : 1 Judge not less you
be judged. He should be put in a maximum security cell,
Until Christ comes back to judge him. It is not our place
in this world to kill. The Lord said turn the other cheek.
I know this is not going to be a popular answer. But
God is the only one with the power to judge, and punish
mankind and he will .All of us fall short of the power of
judgement.

No, I think he should get life in prison without the possibility of parole. I think it would be very unwise for him to be killed, as it will probably cause more violence and death of innocent Iraqi civilians and possibly others around the planet. Violence begets violence. Intelligent people should know that. Don't stoop to his (Saddam's) level.

a life for a life...lol he's killed many many lives. I say he should be tortured for life...or torured to death. Let me tell you what he did to the iranian prisoners during the gulf war...He broke many glass on the ground and made them walk across the hall (6 metres atleast of broken glass) barefooted while being whipped at the same time. He deserves all the punishment he has given to people...

tough one. he deserves to have no hope of ever being part of society ever again. but snuffing his life out, it's extreme and we should be above that. however can we really expect iraq to pay for his secure imprisonment for what could be a further 3 or 4 decades before he died of natural causes. no. so, on balance, he must be killed. if the governmnets of the european union are to intervene to prevent his death then the governments of the european should pay for his secure lifelong imprisionment. there has to be no chance whatsoever of the evil bastard being sprung free by any of his misguided supporters.
