No they were real interviews.. some of the people are now saying though that they got duped into participating because they didn't bother to read the fine print on the release forms that they were asked to sign. You can read all about it here: http://www.slate.com/id/2151865 lol ;-)

Sorry, you guys are wrong. The interviews are *not* staged, they are real. The Borat producers pay the interviewees a large sum of money immediately before the interview and they tell them to 'expect anything'. Everything in the movie is real.
You guys need to watch other Ali G episodes and look at his interviews, they're all real, too. He's an extremely smart person, very well-educated, and although it might LOOK fake, it's not.

she is for real and her husband is too he was the Judge on Peoples Court between Judge Wapner and Judge Marilyn Milian I sometimes get a kick out of Judge Judy but sometimes she is stupid and ignorant and rude. Unfortunately she thinks she knows everything and since she doesn't and thinks she does she favors the wrong person. Like one time a mechanic said he fixed the ladies bell housing and Judge Judy kept yelling at him that he was in the wrong because he didn't fix the transmission. She wouldn't even give him the chance to explain that the bell housing is part of the transmission. That is just one of her many blunders of when she says she knows everything and she doesn't

That's a very good question! I haven't seen the film but I've read all the reviews which are unanimously rave! I mean, is this the new "Schindler's List" or what? I'm pretty sure there is a catch somewhere but I'll have to wach the film to find that out.

They were all staged. But they do a good job of making them look real.
