Probably because he asked for death by firing squad, very dramatic, and they didn't want to grant his wish. Who knows? It is their court, not ours. He'll appeal and if accepted this will go on and on because he is not going to go quietly into the night. Actually, I don't understand them not beheading him...maybe that is for disgraced lesser beings, you think?

Why not hang him? Its far better way to die than he and his henchmen deserve. It is a very quick and humane way to carry out a death sentence. I would think there are alot of people who would like to see him get even a little of what he doled out. Torture!
