There is unconfirmed rumor that God during WWII was on vacation on Alpha Centuri. Upon his arrival back home and looking down on France he's been heard to say and I quote "oops!"

It all depends on where you are in the time-space continuum... For example, if "a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a single day in the mind of God" then quite possibly, Word War II hasn't yet occured and God(s) is/are still quite possibly waiting to see how the Crusades will turn out....

The reason we're here on earth, isn't for God to make our life perfect. What would be the point of even coming here? Why do people ask "where was God when That happened?". We're here to learn and to grow, we have our free agency, just b/c somethings bad, doesn't mean he's gonna come and save us everytime, he wants us to learn. He doesn't make people stop doing bad things, b/c thats their choice. He gave us the Gift of Free agency where we can choose good or bad. God loves us and wants us to return to him, but its a test, where we choose right or wrong, and he gives us opportunity to chose right, we just have to accept it and strive to endure with it.

Good question. A lot of people asked the same thing back then. Personally I don't believe in God but if there was such a thing it would be a God that doesn't intervene. People who claim that God intervenes when good things happen don't address the question : Why doesn't he/she/it intervene when bad things happen?

God was and always will be with the men and women in the armed forces as well as anyone else who chooses to accept Him into their lives. World War II was a result of man being given free will by their creator. God gave us this free will to do good as well as evil. It is truly up to you to decide. "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." (1)

God is in this world but not of this world. This world is of man and flesh. You have this choice; to walk in line with the word of God by meditating on his word and making choices based on biblical truth, or by walking in the flesh by following false doctrines by making choices based on how you feel. Remember this… “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” (2)

Invite God into your life on a daily bases. Allow him to be part of you and your decision making. In doing this you are admitting that as humans, we cannot live in this world alone. But with God all things are possible.

"No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn bushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” (3)

Playing dice. I'm positive, after Job, God and Satan get together often to have an amusing wager.

On the toilet?

EDIT:

This idea that it is us who ignores God seems like just a convenient way of explaining why God never helps anyone. A more sensible explaination is that He doesn't exist.

Life is not about God intervening to make things better every single second and each time life is knocked into kilter by our own free will actions and choices.

Life is dichotomous with a positive for every negative, and a negative for every positive. Life is a pendulum that swings to and fro from season to season, from times of peace to times of war, from times of plenty to times of famine, from times of happiness to times of sadness, from times of unity to times of chaos, from times of hope to times of discouragement, and so on. This is essential so that we Humans may fully apprehend and appreciate the dramatic differences between the Light and the darkness of life, between Good and evil. Each intensifies the meaning of the other by absence of the counterpart. Hence, during times of great evil and darkness, like those imprisoned in the Nazi concentration camps, we yearn for and appreciate the former times of Goodness and Light, and thank God we were privileged to have known such times that gives us great strength to endure the darkness. Likewise, during times of Great Goodness and Light, like those of a prosperous nation, we appreciated the blessings of abundance and give thanks to God, remembering the former seasons of lack, famine, struggle and darkness and know that in a twinkling of an eye that all could change for the worse, so we relish the Goodness with extraordinary appreciation.

God is something that was made up by men. So she/he/it was in the same place as always was and always will be -in the minds of humans.
