I believe it's just an election ploy but it's irrelevant. People have short memories because British and American soldiers are still being killed every day in a war started under the pretence that there were weapons of mass destruction.... where are they?

I am just concern about the future repercusssions on other loonies like Saddam. What kind of message does this send to Kim Jong ll or the Iranian President? Do you think they will be scared or knowing that they will be killed anyways, they will fight to the death. Kim Jong ll knows that he will be put to death if capture, he probably would launch all the nukes North Korea has before giving up, ditto for the Iranian government. When you thinkg about that, you may realize there is not much to celebrate.

Now that you mention it, yes I do think it is odd. Now I wonder if he is really going to be executed, or is this a ploy for the elections.
