On a 2000 Ranger, the left rear brake drum hardware tends to rust off. For this reason, I would include complete new hardware items (hold down springs, pins, shoe springs etc.) in the quote before proceeding with the repair. They are inexpensive anyways. I've seen many where the cable running from the top anchor pivot to the adjuster lever on the bottom snapped off. Is ALL the intact. On this particular truck, the two sides are symmetric opposites. The last part to install on these trucks, is the brake adjuster. That is the easiest way to reassemble the brakes on this particular model, along with Aerostars (similar set-up). Double check your work. Is the cable on the left side partially stuck on? Are the shoes sitting properly on the backing plate? Hope this helps.

People tend to get the wrong part of the shoe sitting on the adjuster, so the shoes are spread out to far even with the adjuster all the way closed.
You did close up the adjuster?

It happens at times to all of us. You put something in backwards or incorrectly. Go back and re-check. Pull the other side for reference.
