i'm thinking you're talking metaphorically
since so many people died during ww2, people lost their faith in God. If milliions of men and women died during that time, God would have saved them, and kept them alive, answer their prayers. However, so many people died anyway, that people lost their belief in God

God was present in all of the infantry men who fought along side there brethren endangering their lives to preserve and provide liberty to all men women and children in the free world.
He was in the Concentration camps whispering to those interned telling them to keep faith in Him while they endured their horrific tortures. He was waiting to take them home to him.
He was in the leaders of the free world when they decided they could no longer sit by and let atrocities happen in the world in which we all live.
He was there.

Anywhere and everywhere. he's bigger than you can imagine. He created earth, he's the director of what has happened, what is happening and what will happen. The war was even His plan. it didn't suprise God at all, he uses people, places, and events, stories, lives, and dramas to let His plan to happen and to take place.

God is always present. However He can't make us listen to Him. He gave us choice and it was up to us to chose to listen to Him or not.

HE was with the soldiers on the battlefield,HE was with the innocents who lost their lives,HE was with the families of soldiers as they prayed for their safe return.HE WAS WITH US ,as we all prayed for an end , and HE's still here...watching over you.

GOD was there where he/she always was-"inside us". but people became deaf so...they can't listen the word of GOD.

he was at a massage therapist to help his bad back. he did get a text message about the war, but he paid good money for his special hot rock therapy treatment and he decided it could wait.
