Ovulating and menstruating are different. A woman's body has a cycle of generally 28 day. If you count 28 days from the first day of your last period (menstruation) you should be able to predict when the expect your next period. About halfway through this cycle of 28 day which is about 14 days, you ovulate. Ovulation is when your body releases it's egg. Women only release one egg per month. The few days surrounding ovulation are when you get pregnant. So the answer is if you are ovulating you are not pregnant, but can definitely get pregnant.

No. I would think the ovaries shut down during pregnancy, and no longer release eggs. This is governed by various hormones. Maybe your question should be the other way around, but the answer would be the same. If you're pregnant, you don't ovulate, and if you're ovulating, you can't be pregnant. Just to be sure, though, check with your gyno.
