Try nipple stimulation gently rubbing or rolling of the nipple to encourage the start of contractions. The theory is that oxytocin, a hormone that causes contractions, is released in the body when the breasts are stimulated
Sex is a great means of getting labour started is thought to work in three ways: firstly the movement may help to stimulate the uterus into action; secondly, sex can trigger the release of oxytocin, the 'contraction' hormone; thirdly, semen contains a high concentration of prostaglandins which help to ripen, or soften, the neck of the womb (cervix) ready for it to dilate when labour starts
Also try:
Eating pineapple
Eating curry
Red raspberry leaf
Walking
And GOOD LUCK hope you get to cradle your baby really soon its an amazing experience so enjoy!

You can't *make* her go into labour if she's not ready - even all the medical technology at an obstetrician's disposal can't always start labour off if the woman's body just isn't in the right state. However, if she is approaching readiness, you can help the process along. Over the years working with new parents, I've collected a variety of suggestions, some have more scientific basis than others, but here we go:
1) Orange juice and castor oil. Works on same principle as curry, i.e. anything which stimulates contractions of the bowel releases prostaglandins which, if the time is right, can bring on labour. However, it itastes awful, and if it doesn't work, she might just feel very ill.
2) Foods suggested to me are pineapple and coriander eaten in massive quantities. I don't know of any basis for this but some of my clients swear they work.
3) Keep trying the exercise - walking around a lot means (assuming the baby is engaged) the baby's head will be pressing against your fiancee's cervix which releases more hormones and helps efface (thin) the cervix.
4) Nipple stimulation. Some basis to this one, in that it releases oxytocin, the main hormone involved in contractions.
5) Sex. This has the most credibility. Firstly, oxytocin is also released when a woman is sexually aroused, and peaks at orgasm. Secondly, semen is a source of prostagladins, the other hormones I mentioned. So the ideal combo would be penetrative sex during which you both have an orgasm, then having your fiancee lie down for a while to those prostaglandins can work on the cervix.
6) If you're overdue, you could ask your midwife to do a "stretch and sweep", which is basically where she does a vaginal examination and tries to stretch the cervix a little and agitate the membranes surrounding the baby. It can be quite uncomfortable or even a little painful, especially if the cervix is not yet very soft, but it sometimes gets things going by releasing prostaglandins.
If you're past your due date already, I know how hard that is (went two weeks over with my first baby!) but remember it is perfectly normal, in fact most first babies come "late" by an average of 8 days.
Good luck!

Testosterone is what they use to induce labour so try sex. Only and I don't mean to be crude but from the back so that it goes waaaay in (blush) Have her lie down with a pillow under her bum for a few minutes and then take a hot shower and go for a walk.
Good Luck to you both and congrats on the new baby boy!

pepermint oil, youre not suppost to use it when you're pregnant because it makes you go into labour, make sure that you fiancee is the full 40 weeks gone as this is the time that the baby needs to grow and develop, if a baby is born prematurly, it's more likley to contract infections, and there might be complications, don't take the risk. xx

Try walking up and down the stairs, sometimes a warm bath helps. Castor Oil will help if the baby if thinking of coming, otherwise it will have no effect and could make your wife feel poorly.

My wife and me didn't have sex for the whole pregnancy, as we see it as an insulting act , since a person is there suffering inside a bad full of water and others things and can't even streach the legs.
What i recommended for her and she did and was sucesseful was for her to take half glass of ghee or oil , walking and praying to the Lord .

My wife went two weeks over due date and they were about to induce when the little blighter decided to start her arrival so I can understand your impatience. 12 agonising hours later there she was.... all covered in goo and crying... there is nothing better in the world than this so enjoy every last minute and be patient.... If it is your first you will never forget it..
Good luck and cherish the moment...
