iv been friends wit him for 8 yrs already and i dont have any fellings towards to be more than friends and well i dont want to hurt him...

Tell him that you like him as a friend and that you think that you guys started dating that it would ruin the friendship that you guys have. Or just tell him that you dont like him the way he likes you.

Having had this happen to me in the past I have to say that there is no easy way to let him down. Unless he is just joking around you are going to hurt him. When he asked the question he changed your relationship, there is no going back at this point. You must be truthful and let him down easily but understand this, the relationship will never be what it once was. You may even be able to stay friends but just be prepared for it to get sticky.

tell him that you just want to be friends and that you wouldnt want to ruin ur friendship by going any further with him. tell him that u just see him as ur friend and u dont have any feelings for him. tell him the truth now because it might get worse for you if u dont let him know now

Its obvious this guy likes you, and you don't like him. So, just let him down gently and tell him that ur not interested except for being friends and then do something really nice for him so he knows you guys are still friends.

If you don't want to be more then friends then you tell him no to the date. You will hurt him tons more if you go out with him and lead him on.
