i have a box turtle or land turtle that is shedding its scales.

It's called shedding...:-)

If you weren't sure what was going on with your boxie...I'm wondering if you would like to have some more info on how to care for it?

They need specific temps, UVB and a varied and good diet. Here are a couple of sites to help you out:

using a sulfur block will help with the shedding of scales. your local pet store will carry the blocks , since he is not an aquatic turtle giving him a bath once a week with the block will help .

this is some vitamin or nutrition deficiency
we have raised turtles for 25 yrs and have never had one to peel
or shed

Perfectly normal- as long as the skin underneath looks helathy.
