I have a friend that I am trying to show that I want more from her but she thinks I am not being serious. Help

We have been friends for a while and she thinks I am a player! Therefore she does not believe me when I say I want to be be with her. What can I do to show her that I have given up my PHD and I am serious about her?

Write her a note telling her how you feel. It requires more effort and she will have time to think about what you have written alone.

Find a place to be alone with her and look directly in her eyes and tell her just how serious you are about her. Talk it over with her. If she turns you down move on with your life.
