People need to learn to live together everywhere, even in the USA. Iraq may settle down in the years to come, but if they become one nation under one constitution ratified by all sects, they will be better off for it...example Turkey...but the Turks are ruled by one ethnic majority, in the past they were very hard on minorities (and even today) but they are a steady government unlikely to fall apart...they are learning and have learned in the last 75 years...What ever good that happens in Iraq will not happen over night. I think it was unwise to disable the Bath party entirely...that was a huge mistake, they are the historical leaders of the country and could have provided a base to build on aloing with the other sects

And with the Kurds, that would be 3. This would be a retrograde step, as prior to the invention of Iraq it WAS 3 countries, and that didn't work. Try studying history.

No, most likely not. The country will keep dividing itself and the problems will not go away. Besides look at examples in history, like Ireland and Post World War Two Germany.

How about splitting America into two: Morons in the south; Cretins in the north?
Oh, they already have!

It might work for a while, but sooner or later they would find something to fight about. All through history these countries have been warring with each other. They don't like the quiet life.

It would read like a weather forecast;
Sunni in the North, but Shiite in the South

Yes but go one further . Three states , you are forgetting the Kurds . They would still manage to kill some each other , but maybe at a slower pace
