Recently, when I came to know about the auditions of Fame X, the auditions were held in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. Why not Bangalore, Hyderabad etc. Do they think that South Indians dont have so much talent? Have they forgotten S. P. Balasubramaniam, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Yesudas, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, A. R. Rehman, and the latest singer Naresh Iyer (who sang Ru-ba-roo from Rang De Basanti)?
I suggest that they must be open to all parts of India, including South Indians knowing Hindi.

if north indians came into south india and participated in any of the south indians tv shows its so obvious they wont know the language either. Either way to be fair you must let anyone join otherwise there is no point calling it INDIAN idol. name it NORTH INDIAN idol.!!!take care

Indian idol is organized by north indians for viewing by north indians and to select north indians.
South indians are aware that it is indeed 'north indian' idol.

Yes south Indian are very much part of reality shows, Best example is “Karunya” of Indian Idol and “Hemachandra”,of SA RA GA MA PA fame .These two only gives us proof that we are not behind in fame X.

ya you r right .the great singers are from south india. they have the ability to take part in suc competation and to get through it. one of the major problem to them is they did'nt know hindi very well.and in the competation they get lesat suppport from south as most of them watching their mother language program.so this is also one of the problem.

To be fair.......oh yes ......they must allow all to audition. Talent is everywhere.
