I am going for an ultrasound tomorrow, i'll be 15+ weeks. I'm quite confident that he will be able to tell me the sex of the baby. Which I really want to know. I was just wondering if any one out there regrets finding out what they were having? Thanks for your input!

No its not too early, I am seeing a high risk OB/GYN. He has a 4-D Doppler ultrasound that is accurate at 13 weeks.

Some people want that surprise as they push the baby out, the doctor/midwife announces "It's a........." However with as much as babies cost (baby supplies that is, not to mention just having the kid at the hospital) I find it is best to be prepared. I never regretted finding out all three timest hat I was having a girl, girl and boy. Esp the last one, because I knew for sure that I would have to go out and buy boy stuff and could not pass down any clothes or such to the new baby.

Congrats on the new little one, and all best wishes your way for a healthy baby, a tolerable delievery, and a wonderful life!

Nope! It was as great a surprise to us when the ultrasound tech told us it was a boy as it would have been in the delivery room. I prefer knowing before the birth, that way I can be prepared with cute clothes, a name, etc. Plus, I don't have to process the information while dealing with the aftereffects and exhaustion of delivery at the same time.

We will find out the next time around, too! I will never regret finding out beforehand.

As for my husband and I, we are still very happy that we found out the sex of our baby. I am 27 weeks pregnant now, and we went for the u/s at 18 weeks. We wanted to know so badly, and it wouldn't cooperate. So we paid for one to be done again, this time at 22 weeks.

We are having a boy, and it was kind of a shock since we were both convinced it was a girl. And I know this may sound horrible, but I only grew up with girls and most of my friends with kids have girls, so I was very uncomfortable with the thought of having a boy. But 2 days after the u/s I couldn't be happier! Now I truly can't wait to have my little guy in my arms!

Oh, by the way, it's easier to prepare. Plus you can buy things you really like that would be gender specific.

Congrads and good luck!!!!!

Just be careful with the 4D sonogram..although Im not an expert I believe the sex organs dont form until around 14 weeks so they may still look similar even with a 4D ultrasound. I found out at 16 weeks with my first that I was having a boy and I had a 16 week sono with my current pregnancy and they said they couldnt tell (I later found out I was having a girl)...but as far as finding out the sex I'm one who likes to prepare and think of the baby as a boy or girl with an identity. I don't like the element of suprise. I guess if you like to be suprised then you shouldn't find out..but with 4D if you can see it, it would be pretty hard not to tell. I definatly don't regret finding out with either pregnancy. Best of luck with your pregnancy and I hope the sonogram goes well for you!

No, I never regret finding out what my two boys were...I got sick of buying "neutral" colors. Greens and yellows can get kind of boring after a while. I was greatful to know I was having a boy both times...I just wish I could have a girl LOL...my two boys are going to be a handful though. Take care and Good luck with everything.

When I went in to get my ultrasound, my husband was with me. He desperately wanted a boy after having two girls allready(from another marriage). I saw the sigh of relief when the ultrasound tech told him that it was a boy...I can only imagine what his face would have looked like if the baby ended up being a girl. I was happy to get a boy and so was my husband but I would have been heartbroken to see the look on his face if it had been a girl.

I think the only time there can be real regrets is if the doctors are wrong. If they say boy, you are safe and you can trust it is a boy. But sometimes with girls, they are wrong (testes haven't dropped yet). In this case, you would have to dress your newborn in all pink. Just a thought.

No i don't regret knowing i was having a boy...then i could get ready for him, and have his name ready for him when they handed him to me for the first time in the hospital... as soon as they told me i eas having a boy there was an instand bond, it was like he was already part of the family...it was great

i didn't find out with my first. with my second and third i found out. i am glad we found out. this allowed me to prepare the room in a more detailed fashion. i didn't want all yellow and white baby things, so yes im glad i found out. and the ultrasound technicians were right so i didn't have to go around and change anything.
good luck
