It is not lucky or unlucky.
It is just a tasteless cookie with a little scrap of paper that they put in it for the end of the meal so that they don't have to offer a real dessert to you.

No. It just means you didn't pay much attention to the first fortune. The actual tradition is that if you don't eat the cookie, you haven't accepted the fortune. But fortune cookies are actually just random messages baked into cookies. You might get any of the messages in any bag of cookies just as easily as any other message. Most fortune cookies today just have some little pseudo-Confucian saying in them, not a prediction for your future. It might say something like "friends can get you through times of no money better than money can get you through times of no friends" or something like that, only shorter.
There used to be fortunes that said "Help. I am being held prisoner in a Chinese bakery."
But still, if you are a superstitious person and you don't like the fortune, don't eat the cookie.

Oh yes very unlucky you will soon start to grow pink hair out of your ears and nose. Fortune cookies are not lucky or unlucky and they cant tell your fortune either. How is a cookie going to know your future when it was packaged at a factory who knows when and anyone can get it to eat it.

First of all reading the notes in a fortune cookie
is just that reading the notes. There were no
experts putting these messages in the fortune
cookies just a machine, so no you willnot have
bad luck, as far as eating someone elses cook-
is go ahead I do it all the time as I like the tase
and I would not want it to go to waste as
nothing is free these days, and you know what
I have not had any bad luck from eating mine
or others, I am retired, living inPanama,

Fortune cookies are easily "American" and not "chinese language" and date returned to the early 1900's. Beleive it or no longer, the 1st actual fortune cookie production unit equipped and opened in China replaced into no longer until eventually 1993! to respond to your question, there is not any etiquette for ingesting a fortune cookie. maximum folk do no longer basically like the feel of fortune cookies and could no longer consume it. Personaly, i like the flavor and consistently consume the cookie after examining my fortune.

i say its only unlucky if they licked it and dropped it on the floor before they gave it to you. then when you open it the fortune says: you will have bad luck for the rest of your pathetic life.
