You can't mix and match memory, if your motherboard is setup for pc2700 then thats what you have to use, if its capable of reading 3200 then you'll have to replace all the ram (if you have 2 sticks you'll have to replace both)
The increase in speed from 2700 to 3200 is only 73mhz so unless you are going to double the existing memory (1gb to 2gb) you aren't gonna notice much if any difference.

The PC# corresponds directly with the buss speed of your RAM memory. If your RAM runs at 333MHz, then the faster memory won't have any affect. If your RAM runs at 400MHz, then it will operate a little better with PC3200 than having the slower PC2700

Just like the apostle Paul traveled extensively to bring news of Christ to people in all areas, dedicated ones today are doing the same thing. There have been tribes found within the last 150 years that, in the last 2000 years, never had any contact with Christians. Amazingly, though, they did have a legend of a wicked earth cleansed by means of a global flood, with only a handful of people surviving.

As long as your mobo supports it, it will run better. You'll notice a difference in how quickly programs load. If you're able, I'd recommend upgrading how much ram you've got also, because windows tends to use a whole lot more RAM than it says it does.

Yes, it will run better, but it will be barely noticable for basic programs. Unless you're running high end graphic or music programs on a regular basis, just go with what you have.
