what to expect from adding a cold air intake? not much. the power gain is very minimal. you will "feel" more power because the engine will make a louder noise. and there is that danger of sucking in water into your engine.

my suggestion is to buy a K&N "drop-in" filter.. it is an air filter cartdige that replaces the stock paper filter in you airbox. you can buy it at pepboys for about $40-50, depends on your car make and model. the K&N filter is washable and reusable. not a whole lot of power gain either but it is a lot better than a CAI system.

Cold intake will always give a few more hp but is hardly worth the effort.

No, it would make you burn more fuel. Warm air is better for the engine, however a KN filter, and hotter coil, and free flowing cat.convertor, would help alot.
