I had this and asked my midwife. She said most likely the muscles stretching. Seemed more than that to me as it was only when I walked and so painful I would have to stop. However she said given it was across my stomach that was all she really knew it could be. More around the bones, hip and pubic would be something else. There was nothing I could do about it but it did only last a few weeks. It went as the baby grew or moved off where it was. Best to mention it on your next check up anyway

Don't worry, this is normal. It stinks, doesn't it? It's worth it in the end, though, so hand in there. The soreness, I had that too with my first child. Just keep resting, because from experience, I can tell you if you do too much until you're healed, you will be in a LOT more pain for much longer! I had to be restitched because I didn't know to seriously take it easy! Try ice packs, minimal movement, and just know it will get better soon. Breastfeeding - Good for you! Hang in there, that too will pass, and it doesn't last long at all. I remember being in tears from the pain with both of my children. When it gets to the point where you don't think you can go any longer, it eases up. Your body is going through a lot of changes, and it will take up to a few weeks for your milk supply to even out, but the sore nipples and engorged breasts will pass within a few days at the most. Don't give up on the breastfeeding! It is ssoooo worth it. My son is 9 months old and I am still nursing proudly. There is so much you can offer your baby by breastfeeding, and your breasts will be engorged either way, so get some help from friends and family for the things you cannot do right now, lay down, rest, and enjoy holding and looking at your beautiful new little angel.

Is it closer to your pubic area? I had this pain with all three of my pregnancies, close to the end, what happens is the pelvic bone goes soft, and starts to "move" to prepare for baby to come out. If it is further up than the pubic line, it could be muscles that are sore (so much weight/movement) I would, just to err on the safe side, get it checked out by a doctor. It probably is nothing threatening wrong, but it is better safe than sorry.

it is probaly just muscles relaxing and stretching. this will continue to happen as your pregnancy progresses. if the pain is a short sharp one the baby could be hitting a nerve. im 37 weeks and had these. it sounds like the muscles stretching.

It could be the baby laying on a nerve. Or it could just be because your bump is getting big and needs supporting.
Have a look at this maternity belt, it may help. http://www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/product.aspx?CategoryID=m_maternity&ProductID=1407&language=en-GB
Hope that help, good luck.

it can be the way the baby is lying for now but mention it at the clinic they can scan and put your mind at ease by confirming this, until then i would stop each time it happens and take a break to be sure youre not harming yourself or baby
