No one can tell you that. We are all individuals! Some girls start early, some take longer. You are still young enough not to worry about it, just enjoy not having that to coipe with every month, its not fun!

Dear Charlotte,

Each women gets her period in her body's own time. No one can answer that question for you. Each woman's body stops having periods in its own time, too. I started at 14 and 7 months. I ended at 48. My mom started at 9. Please don't be is such a rush to grow up. You will have plenty of periods in your life! And although a period is not an illness, I do not know one woman who likes having them. It is just part of being a woman. Make sure you treat your body well by giving it good nutrition and exercise and rest. A body that is not treated well will stop having periods. This is not a good thing and it is not the way our bodies are supposed to function. Love yourself and your body at this stage of life and all the rest of the stages of your life. Look at each day as if it was the very first day of your life. See everything, including yourself, as if you never experienced it before. There are so many wonders ahead for you in your life, don't rush them. All things happen in their time. I wish for you the life of a strong, self-confident, and happy woman.

You can't be sure. Most girls get them from 10-16. Out of range could be from 7-20. If you don't have one when you're 18 then ask your doctor about it. You should get your period after 5 major steps:
Pub!c hair
Slimmer Waist
Bre@st development
Major growth spurt
and
Wider hipes

Honey, be glad you don't have yours yet. It can be pretty painful. Hopefully yours won't be, but I think periods suck. Why do you think they advertise BC pills that cause women to have less periods? Because they suck! You'll be there soon enough. Just enjoy being young! Why would you look forward to having blood coming out of your body on a monthly basis? Think about it.

Your still fairly young!

If all your friends are your age, theni really and honestly think that they have all bloomed fairly early!

Speaking from personal experience, i'd say that you may have another year or so to get your period. it all depends on your weight and how healthy you are... it also has a lot to do with when your mom got her period!! (gross to think about... i know :) )

Usually heavier girls tend to get their periods earlier while thinner girls get it later.

i got mine when i was 12... dont worry about it! It will come when your body feels ready... trust me, you're not missing out on anything :)

good luck with everything !

Everyone starts their periods at different times. I didn't start mine until I turned 13 and my friend didn't start hers until she was 16. Don't worry though, you will get it eventually. I don't know why you would want it though! lol they are horrible!
