I cleaned mine for about 4 weeks. It felt fine after 3 weeks, but I kept using Dial Antibacterial every day in the shower and moved it around a little. Try not to wear pants that touch it, that makes it worse.
Good luck, I've had mine for almost 10 years and counting!

it depends on the person, i had mine done, but three months later it still had not healed properly and was starting to look a bit rank, so i took it out, its not worth the risk to get an infection in it, if ure worried go back to where it was pierced and see what they think
dont stop cleaning it thoguh

You must always clean your belly button area you should never not clean this area, especially if you wear jewelry in it. Many people have had infections no matter how clean they keep the area.

i think you have to keep cleaning it for 6 weeks... there is lots of info on the net ... so just google it, or check back with your piercer.
if anything goes wrong, go to the doctor!!!!
