Ok nothing is for free. First off what are your objectives are you suspicious of him? Is it because you want to know if he has another life or past life he has not told you about. Your already in deep questions about your spouse this is serious. Sure you can do it your self start with his birth certificate home town records and as for police reports on the towns he lived in discover his high school and question his class mates. No one is going to do this for you for free. There are plenty of cheap background checks online but they are not free. If you’re wanting more you have to hire a Private investigator and that isn’t cheap. You can buy some sets of detective books too and bug his car. You can give him a mobile phone that tells you where he is all the time as a GPS phone see link in resource section. You can track him from a laptop. You can also install programs like web watcher that let’s you monitor every move he makes on the computer and you can be on any other computer.
However remember there are laws against this in some states.
What you might want is clergy to talk over your concerns or a psychologist that can help both of you threw what is your real concern.
Trust is vital to a healthy relationship but if you think he is holding out you must discover the truth and move on.
I really suggest you getting A therapist/clergy or a insightful friend worthy of your turst to be quiet to help you process your feelings here.

Some of the stuff you'll have to pay for. If you're talking criminal history, do a state/county/city clerk of the courts search online for where he's lived. That's all public information. Some give the info online, others you may have to request it in writing.

If you have access to his social security number and birth date, spouses may be able to access their mates credit report. I would check with the authoriries first to make sure that it is OK, but it would be a good first step.
Next, you can check with your local police department. If you go there (don't call) with proof that you're his wife and are concerned about his past, they should be able to provide you with an "eyes only" view of his record (unlikely that you can take a copy with you).

Sometimes past life is very useful to built better relationship in the future, but sometimes past life of your husband will destroy your life, your dreams and your family.
Life is not for past. As well as his past life doesn't disturb your family life, why should you care? Keep his present life to reach your future together, that's better for you.
And the other thing is nobody perfect, you have to realize that.

It depends on what you want to know. Typically arrest records and some civil records can be found online. Marriage records, also.
