28 Days Later is one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. All the parts that might be gory, are sped up and blurred, so they are really scary, but not gory.
The plot is very interesting about a people infected with a rage virus, and how easy it is to contract. It's moral goes beyond the superficial plot if you think about it. It's a great movie.

Donnie Darko is a great movie, it really gets you thinking. Someone said Suspect Zero, that is a very good movie as well. Another one that really scared me, but is pretty gore-free, was Fire in the Sky, with DB Sweeney. It's based on a true story, about alien abduction- was made in the 90's sometime.

As soon as you said smart and scary i thought of Silence Of The Lambs. If you havent seen this, do yourself a favor. One of THE best psychological thrillers ever made! Donnie Darko was also pretty terrifying. Try Se7en as weel, very very good. Sixth Sense, Exorcism of Emily Rose, Poltergeist, White Noise, SAW (although gory, it was still psychologically brilliant), The Exorcist, Carrie, The Shining were also pretty good.

Okay I have the perfect movie. The Skeleton Key is a really good movie no blood nothing gory. It's with Kate Hudson. It is kinda freaky and hard to understand and I had a lot of questions I wanted to ask while I was watching it, but in the end you'll understand it. Hope you like it!

i appreciate horror videos. in case you want something it really is quite terrifying, lease "extreme pressure." i'm a horror action picture fan and that became the scariest action picture I ever said. it really is from France, in spite of the indisputable fact that that is dubbed in English. Very gory yet quite good. that is in basic terms about 3 years old yet worth it.

I always liked "The Others" with Nicole Kidman. Very good and absolutely no gore whatsoever.

An old one, 8mm with Nicholas Cage, more thriller than a horror.
Bangkok Haunted is pretty good, as is The Ring.
