How do you write a "letter to the editor" (like in a newspaper)? What is the format? What should I make sure to include? Any help is appreciated...THANKS :)

First make sure that you have an opening sentence that clearly indicates the point(s) you wish to expound upon in your letter.

Next make sure you are concise. A long, rambling letter will not be accepted.

Look at letters to the editor in your local newspaper or favorite magazines to see examples of what the editors are accepting.

Make sure you are accurate. Do not make assertions that are
bound to irritate a large number of readers. The editors most likely will not print that kind of thing.

Just get your point over I am sure the editor will adjust your grammar, possibly even spelling mistakes, although I have noticed plenty in newspapers worldwide. By definition the editor can make your letter shorter or just print the main points for brevity. Put pen to paper and don't be so worried about it
