At my 20wk ultrasound I was told he was about 21wks 6days (1wk and 6days) bigger. Then I had an ultrasound at 31wks saying the same thing (he measured 32wks 6days) and the ultrasound tech said he was about 4pnds 6oz!!! Isn't that pretty big at 31wks??? This is my first and just want to know how far off these can be? I did feel like the date they gave for conception was a little later than I had thought it was?? Thanks!!!

My sister just had a little boy and he was growing at about 2 weeks ahead for example when she was 34 weeks pregnant and she had her ultrasound they told her that he was measuring at 36 weeks. She ended up having the baby one week early and the baby was an average baby. He was 7 and a half pounds and very healthy

That happened with my baby, he was measuring to be bigger than what I was like I was 22 weeks and he was measuring to be 24 weeks I looked like a basketball but it's ok. Your not ahead your baby is just growing fast. My baby wa s 8pounds 2 ounces 21 inches 14.5 inch head 13 inch chest and is a month old and weighs about 12.5 pounds now. Your baby will just be big that's all.

He (I assume you are having a boy?) can possibly be that big. Boy babies are bigger than girl babies, but girl babies develop faster than boy babies (as far as lung and other organs) When I was pregnant with my son I was measuring 33 weeks at 31 weeks. When he was born @ 37 weeks he was seven and a half pounds. If I would have carried him the full 40 weeks he could have been nine pounds or better. Your gestation period could be exactly what they figured it to be, but the size of your baby could be larger than expected.

yes, i think you are ahead of your due date. this happened to me too. i am behind the due date they gave me. but the weight sounds right to me. at my 31 week ultrasound they said she weighs about 4lbs 6 oz. they gave me a weight estimate of 7 lbs. that seems to be the norm for babies at that stage now.
